what is checksum?
a built-in check in a seed phrase that catches many typos.
it does not catch all of them: for random errors, roughly 1 in 16 still pass with 12 words and about 1 in 256 with 24. a valid checksum proves a valid phrase, not your phrase, and a word that isn't on the list is caught by the word list itself, not the checksum.
